What will readers want in 2009? Literary agent airs editors' predictions

THIS is a fascinating insight provided by literary agent Andrew Lownie.

I'm sure that many people's heart will sink as they read of the need for more celebrity and 'real life' inspired tales to help lift readers' spirits in these days of economic doom and gloom.

While overall, it must be hard to foretell longer term trends in publishing - as books commissioned in the near future will not see the light of day for a while yet - I hope this excellent round-up of more immediate expectations may be useful to you.
