LEADING ghostwriter and author of The Freelance Writer's Handbook, Andrew Crofts, has launched a short story contest marking the publication of his latest book, The Overnight Fame of Steffi McBride
More details are here, but it sounds like a fantastic opportunity. The theme is modern celebrity.
And as befits a modern celebrity, Steffi even has her own Twitter feed, and you can check her out on YouTube too. Here she is on Facebook.
As for Andrew's latest book, I loved it. I read it in one go - very much enjoying the story of a young woman catapulted to celebrity status as she was plucked from obscurity to star in the nation's favourite soap. Her stroke of 'luck' inevitably unleashes a rollercoaster ride of events and emotions.
In fact I'm quoted in the preface to the book, and on marketing material, saying that it made me think about Britney Spears. I hope that doesn't put you off!
Andrew's excellent blog is here. And here he is writing about his Amazon paranoia. Hmm, I wonder who else could be "suffering"?
