Media law update session from JournoBiz - £25

I THOUGHT this looked excellent value so am passing it on.

Media Law: an update
Date: November 6

Time: 6-8pm

Venue: YWCA Central Club, London (Nr Oxford Circus).

Cost: £25 (includes wine and nibbles)

JournoBiz editor Jan Murray says:

Do you ever worry about how much source material you can 'lift' for an article? Whether a feature is going to breach an interviewee's privacy?
Or if a report involving a court case is going to put you in the dock for contempt, or cost your publisher hundreds of thousands of pounds in libel damages? Or simply whether taking photographs in a public place is going to get you nicked under new terrorism laws?
You should be. The fast-developing law of privacy, as well as those of defamation, copyright and contempt, touch the working lives of every journalist.

Our informal update course is designed to provide a practical, non-technical introduction to new legal pitfalls and ways to escape them. We will also provide a refresher for attendees whose training is either a dusty memory, or who never really got around to reading McNae's.
The tutor: Michael Cross has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years. He has direct experience of three high-profile legal cases, and of handling many lower profile complaints. He writes on media law for the Law Society Gazette.
Payment required upfront please. Email if you're interested and Jan will send you a payment link or address to send your cheque to.
