« "I always say yes" - tips from a "generalist" by Fiona Veitch Smith | Main | Thanks everyone for your interest in this blog - quick update »

Would you like to take Freelancewritingtips.com off my hands?

TIME is against me. As much as I would love to continue with this blog, and have plenty of information and ideas that I could upload, it's just not happening.

I think the small matter of having a family to spend time with, and a company to run has something to do with this. If you are interested in taking the baton (is that the expression? Oh you know what I mean!) then please get in touch.

Apart from having an ambitiously named bookshop, I have made no further attempt to monetise this site, as it was set up with the intention of publicising my book and helping writers.

So, this is an area that could be developed, and with enough time and expertise, hopefully developed well. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

I have applied, Linda X

I'm also very interested.

Thanks Suzie and Louise and thanks also to those people who have just emailed me.

Please bear with me and I'll be in touch ASAP.

Cheers

Linda, you have done such a super job on this that it is a shame you want to give it up. Try retaining it and requesting submissions from friends, especially MWC...

I would love to do it if I could but...

All the best,
NW

Thank you Nidhi and thank you for your kind words elsewhere. Unfortunately for me, dealing with submissions can be more time consuming than writing something myself. Plugging away writing stuff is one thing and editing, quite another...

That said, I hope you won't be put off contributing something!

Best wishes and thanks again

Linda

I'm interested!

Oh no! Just when we'd met. But I completely understand. With so much on your plate you do need to prioritise (listen to me!) so good luck with the books.

Hi Linda,

Having subscribed to your facebook profile only recently, I'm a bit surprised you're looking for an 'out'. What gives? Is it the low revenues from book sales, for what must be a time consuming site? I'd be interested to hear - as would all bloggers: no matter how passionate you are about a topic, at some point you need to see some financial gain or return. Agree?

Hi Kenobi,
I'm not sure I do agree about all blogs but as a mum of two young daughters and the director of a growing company, my time is needed elsewhere.

You can get all sorts of things out of a blog as well as financial gain. There's a post about this somewhere...

This site was set up to help publicise my book and I have enjoyed seeing that happen but as for now, life gets in the way. Compared to other work, book sales - bring me very little financial return...Again, there's a post about this somewhere - the title is "from journalist to author, why bother?'

I have had more people contact me so thank you to everyone who has been in touch. Please bear with me and watch this space for more news.

Thanks.
