HERE'S a very useful round-up from Journalism.co.uk by Helen Kaut of some of the issues facing parents who freelance.
There's some excellent advice from Julian Rollins and I explain my motivation for going freelance. I'm really not quite sure about the bit about forgetting about material wealth though! [Linda]

Oh, the joys of freelancing with kids... Today I've got two features to finish, have a five-hour journey to squeeze in and a super-active seven-year-old to entertain.
But yesterday we spent hours outside in the sun playing, so the choice is mine. The point I was making about material weatlh was that I could be better off in a executive job in London, Cardiff or somewhere similar and my children could be off my hands in childcare. Freelancing is a way to actually by a part of their childhood, but it costs you financially.

Hi Julian - thanks - it was my waffling about material wealth not being the be-all and end all that is making me wince. :)
Good luck for today - can you imagine what it must be like to have some (whispers) time to yourself? :)
